The law firm, which was founded in the late 1920s in Berlin, has been nationally and internationally acknowledged for decades to be one of the leading addresses amongst law firms specialised in the protection of industrial property and copyright. From its headquarters in Düsseldorf, which has developed into a central place of venue in particular for the law on patents and utility models in Europe, the law firm attends to clients from Germany and abroad. Its lawyers advise and represent mainly large and medium-sized German and international companies from all branches of industry.

The fields of activity comprise extra-judicial advice as well as legal representation before all District Courts and Appeals Courts.
In addition, the law firm acts together with patent law firms in cases of patent and trademark issues before the German Patent and Trademark Office, the European Patent Office, the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM), the Federal Patents Court and the Federal Court of Justice and represents its clients in national and international arbitration proceedings as well as in cases of mediation.
Presently the partnership has six partners, who are supported by associated lawyers and paralegals. All lawyers work across the board on cases within of all branches of the law on protection of industrial property and copyright.
Furthermore, the members of the partnership have made themselves a name by various publications and lectures in Germany and abroad. They work actively in specialized organisations on a national and international level (GRUR, AIPPI).
