Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab has extensive experience in mega multi-million dollar projects, financing transactions and Islamic financing arrangements, and public-private partnerships. He has closed the first successful PPP project in Egypt and is a regular contributor to the World Bank reports on Benchmarking Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs). He has advised on mega PFI and PPP projects, including construction contracts, management agreements, concessions, and has been a member of a number of committees entrusted with drafting Egyptian laws and has also been involved in projects focusing on regulatory reform and development. He regularly advises clients on diverse Egyptian law issues across the investment and projects spectrum.
He features as one of the world's leading arbitration and project finance practitioners and is regularly published in learned periodicals on international arbitration, project finance and PPPs, online dispute resolution, private international law, construction law and practice and oil & gas.
Prof. Dr. Abdel Wahab acted as counsel, expert and arbitrator and presiding arbitrator in more than 145 ad hoc and institutional proceedings involving complex, high value claims between parties from the Middle East, Europe, Asia, Canada, and the United States, and has appeared in proceedings under the auspices of the AAA, CRCICA, DIAC, ICC, ICSID, DIFC-LCIA, LCIA, LMAA, SCC, SIAC, as well as ad hoc UNCITRAL proceedings, involving State and State-owned entities.
