Peter advises on all areas of energy law. He leads the Düsseldorf based German Energy practice and is one of the most prominent and recommended energy lawyers in Germany. With more than 20 years of experience Peter brings knowledge and insight to the full spectrum of energy law issues.
Peter has been involved in many important deals, legal proceedings and discussions in the German energy sector. His drafts were the basis for parts of the new German Energy Act.
Prior to joining White & Case, Peter Rosin led the German energy practice group of another renowned international law firm in Düsseldorf. He was also the Global Head of Power at that firm. Furthermore he worked successfully in the German energy sector in different leading positions. Until 2001, Peter held a leadership role in one of the largest German energy supply companies.
Since 2006 Peter is in a leading role of a variety of energy transactions such as the BEB transaction in 2005, the Amprion purchase by Commerz Real, the purchase and financing of E.ON Mitte AG by a consortium of municipal shareholders and most recently he represented a consortium consisting of STEAG GmbH and Bejing Capital Group in connection with the bidding process to acquire EEW Energy from Waste GmbH, represented STEAG in the bidding process to purchase the lignite and hydroenergy sectors of Vattenfall (including comprehensive mining law verification) and represented an Italian TSO on the acquisition of several gas storage facilities.
Peter also has experience in creating new investment structures and advices on energy related questions of digitalization. Another focus of his work is managing large legal proceedings and arbitration proceedings as well as acting as an arbitrator for lawsuits related to energy issues.
In 2015 Peter and his team of ten experienced lawyers left another international law firm, which up to this point had a market leading position in energy law. Bringing together a strong combination of transactional, renewables and regulatory skills, the market-leading German team complements White & Case's existing top tier global energy capabilities, both at home and cross-border. White & Case therefore has a leading energy law team in Germany, which has also made a name for itself in litigation/arbitration for many years. Within the framework of the EMEA integration of the practice, the market-leading German team supplements the globally strong range of the law firm in the area of energy law and can thereby offer cross-border transactions and projects efficiently from a single source.
