Celia Jenkins is a partner and heads Tuli & Co's product development, regulatory and corporate insurance practices. She has been practising in the Indian insurance market for twelve years, advising Indian Insurers, overseas Reinsurers, Indian branches of overseas Reinsurers, insurance brokers, web aggregators, corporate agents, surveyors and loss assessors, automobile OEMs, financial services aggregators and other entities in the financial services sector.
Celia has reviewed more than 1,500 policies for Indian Insurers under the IRDAI's product filing procedures, including term life, ULIPs, endowment, credit life, leave encashment, superannuation, employer-employee group policies, loan protection, health indemnity, critical illness, surgical care, personal accident, travel, loss of employment, extended warranty, contractual liability, electronic equipment, private and commercial motor, industrial and non-industrial public liability, employment practices liability, D&O, specialised E&O and trade credit.
Celia provides regular advice to Indian Insurers, Reinsurers and insurance intermediaries on a range of regulatory issues such as in relation to distribution structures, marketing arrangements and outsourcing and service provider arrangements. She also provides advice and assistance in the implementation of commercial structures, responding to correspondence received from regulatory authorities and preparing internal policies and compliance checklists.
Celia also advises overseas reinsurers and investors as well as Indian financial companies on a number of corporate issues in relation to entry strategies, restructuring options, foreign direct investment and joint ventures in the insurance and financial space.
Celia is widely recognised as a leading practitioner in insurance law in India by a number of legal directories including Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500.
