Franco Toffoletto practises employment law and is the Managing Partner of the law firm Toffoletto De Luca Tamajo e Soci, one of the major national players specialising in employment law, labour law and contracts with commercial agents.
Franco read law at the University of Milan, graduating in 1980. He was admitted to the Italian Bar in 1982 and has held rights of audience in the Italian Supreme Court since 1996.
He has been advising companies on all aspects of employment law for more than 30 years and continues to do so on a daily basis, in addition to his management role within the Firm. With his indisputable expertise, he has guided the Firm to become what it is today, a leading national law firm in the Italian employment law market with unrivaled international capabilities.
He is one of the founding partners of Ius Laboris™ – the biggest global alliance of law firms specialising in employment and human resources law – of which he was Chairman until 2012, and was also a founding partner and Vice Chairman of the AGI (Italian Employment Lawyers Association). Franco was also one of the founders of the European Employment Lawyers Association (EELA), as well as its Chair from 2003 to 2007, and has been its Board Member for Italy since EELA's establishment. He is also a member of the International Bar Association (IBA).
Franco is recognized internationally as one of Italy's foremost legal practitioners in employment law. The world's most renowned legal directories such as Chambers & Partners Europe, Legal 500 EMEA, Who's Who Legal, Best Lawyers and Euromoney's Expert Guides, have consistently ranked him in the very top tier of their directories for a number of years. Franco is the author of many articles and publications on employment law and regularly contributes to the renowned Italian national business daily, "Il Sole 24 Ore". Some of his recently published books include: "The Civil Code Commentary: Agency Contracts- Arts. 1742-1753" (Giuffré, 2014); "Individual Dismissals across Europe" (Legalcommunity, 2013); "Contracts with Agents" (Giuffré, 2012); "Employment Law" (Egea, 2009); "The Civil and Commercial Law Series Agency Contracts" (Giuffré, 2008); "Individual Dismissals across Europe" (Egea, 2008).
He is also an employment law professor at the School of Higher Education managed by the Italian Employment Lawyers Association (AGI) and often speaks at both national and international conferences on both employment law and contracts with commercial agents.
Franco's prominence for innovation in the Italian legal sector is also worthy of note. He is often interviewed concerning the Firm's innovations, including iLex, for which the Firm was commended by the Financial Times FT Innovative Lawyers Report Europe in 2015.
He is native in Italian and fluent in English.
