José Rosell is a leading arbitrator currently based in Copenhagen. He is a member of the Barcelona Bar Association, and is registered with the Danish Bar Association pursuant to the EU directive 98151EC.
José Rosell has been actively involved in international arbitration since 1978 and currently focuses his activity serving as an arbitrator. He has acted as counsel for states, state-owned institutions, banks and multinational companies, and has served or is serving as chairman, sole arbitrator or co-arbitrator in more than 160 arbitrations. His practice as arbitrator is devoted to international commercial arbitrations and investor-state arbitrations. José Rosell is able to conduct arbitrations in English, French and Spanish, and has working knowledge of Italian and Portuguese.
He is a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR. He is a member of several working groups on international arbitration issues established by the ICC. José Rosell is a member of the ICC Latin American Arbitration Group. He has actively participated in the drafting and review of the arbitration rules of the major arbitration institutions. José Rosell has been a member of the drafting group of the Prague Rules. He is a member of the panel of arbitrators of the leading international arbitration institutions.
José Rosell has written a number of articles on international arbitration. He is a member of the Editorial Committee of the Paris Journal of International Arbitration. He has participated as a speaker and moderator in numerous conferences and gives lectures in several universities. He is a member of the board of the French Branch of the International Law Association (ILA) and a member of the ILA International Committee on International Commercial Arbitration.
