Paul den Boef is an associate and registered Patent Agent in Smart & Biggar's Ottawa office. Paul's practice focusses on patent drafting and prosecution in the fields of electrical and computer engineering.
Paul has considerable experience with preparing, filing and prosecuting patent applications pertaining to a variety of technologies, including wireless, telecommunications, and semiconductor technologies. He also prepares patentability and validity opinions.
Paul routinely works with several high-profile clients operating within Canada and internationally.
Prior to joining Smart & Biggar, Paul obtained a variety of engineering experience, including high-speed digital system design and industrial process control and automation. He also acted as a sessional instructor for an electronics control system course at the University of Alberta.
Paul holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master's degree in Computer Engineering, and is a licensed professional engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta.
Paul is a fellow of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada and a member of the Information, Communication & Technology Committee.
Paul has been recognized in LMG Rising Stars in Patents since 2015.
