Daniel Anthony is one of Canada’s leading experts in intellectual property issues relating to the copyright, trademarks and internet law. He advises clients ranging from start-ups to fortune 500 companies on issues of enforcement, registration, strategic management, and licensing.
Daniel is sought out for his success in resolving trademark and copyright infringement quickly and efficiently. He has also assisted many clients in removing infringing content from the internet and recovering domain names, both through negotiation and contested domain name arbitration proceedings. Daniel has appeared in dozens of cases before the Trademarks Opposition Board, Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal and Ontario Superior Court.
Daniel is a fellow of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada and Chair of the Internet Committee. He is a member of the International Trademark Association and the Canadian Bar Association. He earned a B.Sc. in Cell Biology and Genetics and then completed his J.D. at the University of Toronto in 2004. Daniel is a trademark agent and patent agent and is registered to practise before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
