Amanda Persaud is a partner in Ropes & Gray's private investment funds practice in New York. Her practice focuses on the formation, fund raising and operation of US and international private investment funds, including private equity funds, credit funds, real estate funds, hedge funds and other alternative asset classes such as special situations, mezzanine/distressed debt and hybrid funds.
Amanda has led numerous fund raises for prominent US and international sponsors of private investment funds. She regularly counsels on a wide range of governance, operational, conflicts and regulatory matters affecting sponsor clients across their entire platform. She has significant experience advising sponsor clients in structuring and reorganizing fund complexes, tailoring solutions to address conflicts of interests across funds as well as assisting sponsors with internal compensation and management arrangements.
Amanda's work in asset management M&A includes negotiating and structuring spin-outs of, strategic investments in, and sales of, alternative asset management businesses. Amanda has authored numerous articles on private fund topics, including her latest publication Private Equity Carried Interest Arrangements: A Business Perspective (PLI). Amanda also regularly speaks on panels at industry conferences, including Current Terms: Private Equity Funds (IBA/ABA Conference on Private Investment Funds) and General.
