Andreas Fankhauser has more than 15 years of experience in handling and resolving complex disputes through litigation and arbitration, arising from a variety of business transactions, including in the fields of aviation/aerospace and transportation, international trade and investment, construction and engineering, product risk and liability, insurance and reinsurance, as well as fraud and asset recovery.
He frequently acts as counsel in litigation before Swiss courts and in international arbitration proceedings. In addition, he serves as arbitrator.
Andreas Fankhauser's non-contentious work involves giving advice in commercial law matters, including contractual and regulatory advice to aviation/aerospace entities as well as their insurers. He also gives advice in respect of the law of unmanned aircraft systems (drones).
Before moving to private practice, Andreas Fankhauser was a legal secretary and a judge in the District Court of Zurich. In 2012, he joined the Zurich-based law firm of Baumgartner Mächler as a partner. He is the co-head of the firm's litigation and arbitration practice group.
