Paul Jebely is a partner in the law firm's Finance practice. He is recognized as a leading aviation lawyer, advising a range of clients on billions of dollars of commercial and business aircraft finance transactions. Mr Jebely has been repeatedly recognised by legal directories such as Chambers, Legal 500 and Who's Who as a "very highly rated" leading individual in aviation finance and singled out in Chambers as "extremely competent", "commercially aware", "responsive", "courteous", "technically skilled", "capable", "attentive" and "driven". He has been quoted by the Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, the China Business Network and various industry publications on the basis of his experience in the aviation markets in Asia and Africa in particular. Among other recognition, he was the 2015 recipient of the "Outstanding Contribution to African Aviation Development" award – the only lawyer to receive the award since its inception in 1999.
Mr Jebely is admitted to practice law in England, New York and Ontario. He is experienced in negotiating and executing international commercial and business aircraft and engine financing, leasing and trading transactions, and in advising in various enforcement and repossession situations. He has advised clients that represent the full range of industry participants in transactions concerning all classes of commercial and business aircraft. He is currently the Chairman of the Community of Hongkong Aviation Professionals, and a member of the Board of Governors of the Asian Business Aviation Association.
Prior to joining Pillsbury, Mr Jebely worked in Hong Kong, London, Toronto and Kuwait, and led the aviation groups for two major international law firms.
Mr Jebely received his B.A. from the University of Toronto and his J.D. from York University, Osgoode Hall Law School.
