Philippe Vlaemminck is the managing partner of Pharumlegal, a Brussels-based law firm specializing in EU law and strategic consultancy.
He has more than 30 year's specialist experience in EU law (Regulatory and Litigation) and trade law (WTO and anti-dumping).
Philippe has a considerable litigation experience before the CJEU and the EFTA court (more than 94 cases about i.a. internal market, agricultural law, institutional law, customs & taxation) and was among the first private lawyers who were granted the right to appear in a WTO dispute settlement hearing (EU-bananas – AB).
He has a vast experience in the following areas: EU regulatory, international trade, fruit & vegetables, food law, agricultural law, sport law, energy, including renewable energy, and e-commerce sector. He also works on privacy law, digital single market, new technologies and digital economy.
In particular, Philippe is widely regarded as a leading player in the current debate on gaming and gambling in the EU and has been involved as a Member State representative in every gambling case before the CJEU and the EFTA court (more than 40 cases).
Philippe is recommended as a world's top-class specialist in the most prestigious global rankings of the best lawyers (Chambers global - band 1). He was awarded i.e. Public Gaming World Lottery Hall of Fame Award 2015, and the IMGL President cup 2010.
Moreover, for more than 10 years Philippe worked in the European Institute at Ghent University, Belgium and was a guest lecturer and visiting professor at Ghent University and at LL.M. International Economic Law and Policy program at University of Barcelona, Spain.
He is a member of Friends of ERA Trier, Panathlon International and he was also appointed as arbitrator by the London Court of International Arbitration.
