Zeynel Tunç is the partner heading the energy, infrastructure and projects practice at Paksoy with an in-depth experience of the Turkish energy sector, working extensively with sponsors, project companies, lenders, developers, investors and the market regulators in Turkey.
Zeynel's practice also focuses on project finance. Zeynel acts for banks and other financial institutions, developers, sponsors, and the regulators including the energy regulator. Zeynel assisted the clients successfully to close transactions involving assets in connection with energy, mining & natural resources projects, aircraft, oil & gas projects, ships, hospitals and other infrastructure projects such as transportation and water & environment projects.
Zeynel is the former head of legal of EnerjiSA Group, a leading energy generation, trading, distribution and sales company of E.ON and Sabanci Group, where he led the legal department for more than five years.
Zeynel has been heavily involved in advising on the regulatory processes, privatisations, PPPs, licensing requirements and processes, and project finance work, working along with the sponsors, lenders, including DFIs and ECAs, procuring entities, suppliers, contractors, the government agencies, the market regulators, and the consultants in power, gas, mining, and infrastructure investments.
Zeynel advises clients on a wide range of FIDIC and non-FIDIC based construction, engineering and maintenance of large and mid-size power projects and infrastructure facilities from tender to contract negotiation, and resolution of construction disputes.
Zeynel also has a vast banking and finance experience, acting for international financial institutions, lenders and borrowers in cross-border loan facilities.
