Mr Madelpuech is an economist specializing in transfer pricing, economic modeling, and intercompany valuation. He has advised multinational enterprises and tax administrations on transfer pricing policy design, documentation, and defense, particularly in projects related to business restructuring, EU state aid, intellectual property migration (patents, trademarks, and other hard-to value intangibles), and intangible-related transactions.
As a Principal in NERA Economic Consulting's Transfer Pricing Practice, Mr Madelpuech works closely with clients to understand their business challenges to ensure that he applies the most relevant and up-to-date economic techniques and achieves a rigorous and defensible analysis. He is experienced in value chain analysis, discounted cash flow valuation, profit split method, options realistically available, Monte Carlo analysis, and internal comparable analysis, and has worked across a wide range of industries, including digital, high-tech, financial services, health care, luxury, automotive, consumer goods, infrastructure, and real estate.
Mr Madelpuech is a frequent contributor to Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) policymaking related to the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) Action Plan, and he has been invited to represent NERA at OECD public consultations.
Prior to joining NERA, Mr Madelpuech was an economist within the transfer pricing and valuation groups at a Big Four accounting firm, working in both Paris and New York City. He was also a lecturer on transfer pricing at the University of Vienna and at ESCP Europe. Mr Madelpuech is currently a member of the Society of French Valuation Experts (SFEV) and of the International Fiscal Association (IFA), and he is a frequent contributor to journals and trade publications.
