Ms Lynch's areas of expertise are aeronautical law, corporate law, finance, structured financial transactions, investment funds, litigation, and restructuring and insolvency.
She received her Bachelor of Laws, LLB, from the University of São Paulo School of Law (1976), and her Master of Laws, LLM, Columbia University School of Law (1978).
Ms Lynch specializes in cross-border aircraft financing. She provides assistance to foreign lessors and lenders in structuring finance and operating lease transactions with Brazilian lessees involving commercial aircraft and executive jets and helicopters, including the tax issues arising from the financing and the importation of aircraft to Brazil. She also does regulatory work before DAC and ANAC regarding the setting up of airlines and the transfer of control of charter companies ("Taxi Aéreo") and airlines, including the required authorizations by ANAC. She was also involved in the setting up of the first aircraft fractional ownership program in Brazil. She deals with the restructuring and bankruptcy of airlines and aircraft repossession. She is the ex-chair of the Aviation Law Committee of International Bar Association – IBA.
Ms Lynch also deals with representation of foreign clients setting up companies in Brazil, including acquisitions and joint ventures with Brazilian companies. She has experience with representation of private equity funds in investments in Brazil involving complex corporate structures in order to assure adequate returns. She also has experience with representation of foreign banks in financial transactions with Brazilian companies and governmental entities including loans, asset financing, and the respective guarantee packages. She has dealt with the structuring of a vendor program for a US aircraft manufacturer in Brazil with Ex-Im guarantee. Those are actually planes for agricultural use.
