Brian Doran is a senior partner in the Commercial Real Estate practice at Matheson. He is also a partner in the firm's Development Land Group.
Brian advises on all areas of property development law, including large scale site assembly, negotiation of access rights and utility easements, and design and implementation of privately managed residential and mixed use schemes.
He has particular expertise in the area of enforcement and insolvency related "block" apartment sales in privately managed apartment schemes. and has advised various insolvency practitioners, banks and lending institutions, including the National Asset Management Agency, in relation to the remediation of unfinished housing developments, large scale apartment and mixed use schemes, in order to enhance the marketability of the development.
Brian has wide experience of working in tandem with insolvency practitioners in the work-out of unfinished housing developments, and dealing with management companies (in relation to such issues as MUD's Act compliance) and planning compliance issues (in relation to such issues as payment of outstanding planning financial contributions, planning bonds and Part V Social and Affordable Housing requirements).
