Ms Mata-Perez (Euney) is the Managing and a founding Partner of Mata-Perez, Tamayo & Francisco. She is a member of the Philippine bar and a certified public accountant.
Euney is an experienced corporate and transaction counsel, having handled a wide-range of corporate transactions, such as mergers, acquisitions, infrastructure and renewable energy projects, foreign investments, corporate reorganizations and corporate restructuring. She is also a seasoned tax practitioner and can ably handle all aspects of tax practice, including international, domestic and local tax advisory, incentives, tax litigation before the Court of Tax Appeals, and tax advocacy work, involving administrative claims for tax refunds, assessments, protests, and ruling requests before the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
Euney's rich 25-year experience in tax and corporate matters, and keen business insight as a certified public accountant enables her to proficiently identify and resolve a variety of issues or opportunities that affect businesses and transactions.
Euney is a past president of the Tax Management Association of the Philippines (TMAP) and holds the distinction of being the first Filipino elected as Deputy President of the Asia Oceana Tax Consultants' Association, Inc. (the association of tax practitioners in the Asia-Pacific region) in 2016.
Euney has written and contributed numerous corporate and tax articles to various publications like CCH Doing Business in Asia, the Ateneo Law Journal, as well as the technical journals of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants and TMAP. She has also conducted lectures in local and international conferences, including those sponsored by AOTCA, Taxand and the International Tax Review. At present, she is an author or columnist at The Manila Times, a newspaper of nationwide circulation in the Philippines.

Euney earned her degree of Juris Doctor and graduated salutatorian of her class at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law, where she was the Associate Editor of the Ateneo Law Journal. She graduated summa cum laude in her undergraduate course of Bachelor of Science in Commerce, major in accounting, from the University of San Carlos, Cebu City.
She previously worked as an auditor in SGV & Co., and as a senior associate in SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan.
