Specializing in Tax Litigation, Renato has successfully advised domestic and foreign clients in the principal areas of the Brazilian Tax Law. As a litigator, he represented clients at judicial and administrative levels, involving all types of tax matters, including defenses against tax assessments and filing of lawsuits to challenge tax liabilities or aiming at the recovery of unduly paid taxes.
A seasoned professional, he has broad experience in litigation and deep Tax Law knowledge, reaching outstanding achievements in all court levels and obtaining great impact decisions in leading cases at higher courts.
Renato graduated at Faculdade de Direito de São Bernardo do Campo, in 2003, completed his Postgraduate Studies in Tax Law at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC/SP), in 2005, and at Instituto Brasileiro de Estudos Tributários (IBET), in 2007. He also holds a LL.M. in Tax Law at Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC/SP, 2014). Renato is a partner of the Tax Litigation practice since 2016, and was recognized as a leader in the Tax Litigation area by the publication Tax Controversy Leaders in 2017.
