Angela Di Franco is chair of Levy & Salomão's litigation practice. She has litigated thousands of matters in her over twenty years at the firm, and she has tried hundreds of cases to final verdict. She also has resolved many cases through arbitration and other forms for alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
Her clients include both Brazilian and international corporations, and she has handled matters as diverse as shareholder actions, tax litigation, intellectual property claims, commercial contract disputes, and land use and environmental protection matters. Her cases include both straightforward actions to enforce judgments and complex multi-jurisdictional matters that require coordination with colleagues in the US and Europe. Ms Di Franco's appellate litigation experience includes bringing several cases before Brazil's highest court. In addition, Ms Di Franco also represents clients before administrative agencies.
Ms Di Franco has represented clients in arbitrations that have resulted in a favorable final award, and she also has been appointed by her peers to serve as an arbitrator or mediator in several cases.
Ms Di Franco serves as an arbitrator at the Brazilian Bar Mediation, Conciliation and Arbitration Tribunal of the Commission of Legal Firms, served São Paulo's State Court System as mediator and was a featured lecturer on ADR in Brazil. Chambers and Partners (Latin America and Global) and Legal 500 listed her among the world's leading dispute resolution practitioners. She has also being appointed by Brazilian General Counsels as one of the most admired litigation lawyers in Brazil. Ms Di Franco holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP).
