Dr Stahl is the senior partner of Lebuhn & Puchta, an established law firm in Hamburg, Germany, founded in 1950.
Dr Stahl joined Lebuhn & Puchta in 1987 and became partner of the firm in 1989.
Dr Stahl's legal practice covers the entire range of commercial litigation and arbitration as well as the provision of non-contentious legal advice, with an emphasis on coverage and liability issues in insurance and reinsurance, banking, commercial, capital market investments, shipping, international sale as well as insolvency related legal topics. Dr Stahl has extensive experience in all forms of commercial dispute resolution, including in complex, heavy and high value cases.
Dr Stahl appears in foreign courts as an expert on German law and also accepts appointments as arbitrator.
Dr Stahl's clients range from various industrial groups to German and non-German insurance and reinsurance companies, mutual and fixed premium risk carriers, capital investment fund vehicles, ship owners and operators, charterers and a broad range of capital market investment originators both domestic and abroad.
Legal training and practise
- Law Studies at Universities of Munich, Göttingen, Hamburg, London and Cambridge (LL.B. 1981) – doctoral thesis in 1987.
- Dr Stahl started his professional career at a well-known international law firm in London in 1981, was admitted to the German bar in 1987 and has been in uninterrupted successful private legal practise as a German lawyer ever since.
