Dr Jiang specializes in labor, employment and social security laws.
Dr Jiang has practiced labor and employment law for over 20 years. His practice extends to the full spectrum of PRC labor and employment law. Dr Jiang has provided advice on employment relationship settlement schemes and employee issues arising out of M&A transactions, restructurings, reorganizations, bankruptcy and stock listings of large PRC state-owned enterprises and multinationals with investment in China on many occasions. He has obtained outstanding achievements in providing legal advice on recruitment, employment contract, non-compete, and class action in labor dispute arbitration and litigation for large state-owned enterprises, foreign companies' representative offices in China, and foreign-invested companies. Dr Jiang has also rich experience in dealing with trade unions, collective bargaining, and employee strikes, etc.
Dr Jiang is one of the first three individuals to receive a Ph.D. in labor law in China. He has long been engaged in researching the practical issues of employment laws, trade union laws and social security laws. He has extensively studied international and PRC employment laws and has a broad and deep understanding of the legislation, enforcement and practice of PRC Employment Law, Trade Union Law, and Social Security Law.
Dr Jiang has also participated in the legislation of the PRC Employment Law, the Employment Contract Law, the Labor Dispute Mediation and Arbitration Law, the Employment Promotion Law and the Social Security Law, as well as the formulation of implementing regulations for such laws. He has provided consultation to legislative authorities on the making and amending of laws and regulations for multiple times. The Legal Affairs Office of the PRC State Council appointed Dr Jiang as the leader of a research team in the process of drafting the PRC Employment Contract Law.
Dr Jiang's recent books include Global Legal Insights Employment & Labour Law (Global Legal Group, 2017 and 2018), The Corporate Immigration Review (Law Business Research, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016), Getting The Deal Through-Pension & Retirement Plans (Law Business Research, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017), A Comparative Analysis of Labor Outsourcing (Arizona Journal of International and Comparative Law, 2014), International Labour and Employment Compliance Handbook (Wolters Kluwer, 2011), Beijing Employment and Labor Law Guide (CCH, Hong Kong published in2006 and updated annually), etc.
Dr Jiang is also the Deputy Chair of China Social Law Society, Chairman of Beijing Law Society for Labor and Social Security and Guest Professors of Law Schools of Peking University, Qinghua University and Renmin University. Dr Jiang lunched and founded Asian Labor Law Association in 2010 and has been holding the position of China National Council since 2012.
