Isabel Díaz is the founding partner of Isabel Diaz & Asociados, formed in 2009. Until that year, she was member of Barros & Letelier for 21 years, first as an associate and then as a partner for 15 years.
She has been in charge of important matters involving commercial, regulatory and antitrust affairs, acting both as an adviser and litigator, in civil, administrative and antitrust organisms and courts, besides a broad experience in corporate matters advising open and close corporations, as well as public organisms.
With broad experience litigating before the Antitrust Court and the Supreme Court, Isabel Díaz has participated in an important number of non-contentious and contentious proceedings, in connection with all the rank of matters related with antitrust. She has also an important experience regarding mergers and acquisitions, both under the former regime where its consultations were voluntary to such Courts and under the new regulations in force since 2016 and 2017, which provides for a mandatory notification before the National Economic Prosecutor’s Office, in the circumstances provided for in the Competition Act.
As part of her regular activities and of the firm, compliance programs for clients are developed, as well as the advisory in commercial policies and contractual structures. She has advised, on permanent and on a spot basis, leading companies in sectors of financing, supermarkets, retail, pharmacies, food, energy, telecommunications, water, mining, construction, ports and maritime carriers, among others.
