Georg Rauber heads the IP | IT practice at Homburger. He has extensive and long-standing expertise in all areas of such practice.
Georg mainly advises (with the support of some twelve IP | IT professionals and numerous professionals of other Homburger practices) clients in the fields of information technology, telecommunications, media & entertainment, sports marketing, life sciences and healthcare.
His transactional work includes IP licensing and transfer, IP and IT spin-offs and restructurings, IT outsourcing and IT projects, research and development, international trade and distribution, tech start-ups and early phase ventures as well as technology and distribution joint ventures. Another focus of Georg's practice is the representation of clients in litigation, arbitration and regulatory proceedings in the areas of patents, copyrights, industrial designs, trademarks, know-how, proprietary and open source software, telecommunications, media & entertainment and sports properties. He regularly advises clients at the interface of IP and antitrust law.
Georg is also a member of the Homburger Competition | Regulatory and Litigation | Arbitration practices. He regularly publishes and gives lectures in his areas of specialization. He is a member of the most important national and international associations in the fields of IP and IT.
Between 2007 and 2012 Georg Rauber was a board member of the Zürich Bar Association, which he presided in 2011 and 2012. Since 2016, Georg has been an extraordinary member of the Supervisory Board of the Zürich Bar.
He is fluent in German and English.
