Dr Wolfgang Kühn is a senior partner of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, a large German law firm with about 350 lawyers and offices in Berlin, Brussels, Chemnitz, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Stuttgart and Zurich. The firm engages in general corporate and commercial, international arbitration and M&A.
Wolfgang's areas of practice are corporate law, mergers & acquisitions and international arbitration. He has advised national and foreign clients in a large number of M&A transactions, related to, among other things, the energy, automotive, media (TV and telecoms), food production and service industries.
Wolfgang has handled many national and international arbitration proceedings as arbitrator or counsel in respect to mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, construction project contracts, and turnkey plant contracts on behalf of German and international corporate parties or clients. He acts as chairman in large international arbitration proceedings, such as those related to disputes under foreign investment treaties or international joint ventures (such as Uncitral ad hoc, ICC, DIS, Copenhagen Arbitration, SIAC and Vienna Arbitration).
He is honorary member of the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS); past chairman of the Arbitration Committee of the International Bar Association; and past member (1990–1996) of the ICC International Court Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce. He has spoken at various international conferences (including IBA, ICC, DIS, ICCA and VIAC). He was adviser to the IBA Rules of Evidence Subcommittee in 2010.
