In 1981 graduated (cum laude) from the Moscow State Aviation University as a mechanical engineer and then from the Central Institute of Intellectual Property, Moscow. He commenced his carrier in 1981 at a major IP law firm in Moscow, continuing his postgraduate training in an IP firm in Bordeaux, in the University of Paris and in the Franklin Pierce Law Center.
In 1998 he joined Gorodissky & Partners as a managing partner. Now he is in charge of the largest IP practice in Russia.
Mr Medvedev has extensive international experience in patent matters, in enforcing and protecting inventions with a focus on mechanical and electrical engineering inventions. He is also good in trademark proceedings, IP rights infringement cases, IP asset management, technology transfer and licensing.
A regular speaker at IP conferences and seminars, Mr Medvedev is the author of a number of publications on relevant IP topics in Russian and international professional editions. He is a lecturer at the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.
Mr Medvedev is a member of the Scientific Consultative Counsel at the IP Court and of the Scientific Methodological Council at the Russian State Academy on Intellectual Property.
Member of FICPI , LESI, AIPPI, INTA. He is also president of FICPI Russia and secretary of LES Russia.
