Rolf Trittmann has been a partner in Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer since 1993 and works in their Frankfurt office. He is a member of the dispute resolution practice group and specialises in litigation, arbitration and distribution law.
Rolf has acted as counsel as well as arbitrator in numerous large scale civil disputes before courts as well as arbitral tribunals, in particular post M&A matters, commercial disputes and turn-key projects. He has advised industrial clients in several sectors with an emphasis on the automobile industry.
In addition, he also has represented many large clients in civil litigation matters in particular in cross-border disputes in various industries.
Rolf was born in Frankfurt/Main, Germany, in 1958. He completed his legal education at the University of Frankfurt as well as Berkeley (LLM) and holds the degree of doctor of laws (Dr iur) from the University of Frankfurt/Main. Rolf is the author of a number of articles and publications on litigation, arbitration and distribution law.
He was a member of the ICC Court for Arbitration representing Germany between 2011 and 2018.
He heads the advisory board of the German Institution of Arbitration (DIS) and is member of the DIS-Council. Rolf also is a frequent speaker at conferences in the fields of arbitration and litigation, is co-editor of the German Arbitration Journal (SchiedsVZ) and teaches as honorary professor at the Goethe University in Frankfurt.
Rolf joined Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in 1989. He speaks German and English.
