Rosanne Bonnici is a partner at Fenech & Fenech Advocates, a leading multi-disciplinary full service law firm, where she heads the Tax Department (recognized as the leading tax law practice in Malta) and co-heads the Financial Services Department.
Rosanne read law at the University of Malta and was admitted to the Bar in 1993. She graduated summa cum laude with a Masters Degree in Financial Services from the University of Malta in 1998.
Rosanne is considered to be a leading tax and financial services lawyer, having practised in both areas of law for over 23 years. Rosanne heads the firm's Tax team, advising clients and providing them with innovative solutions relative to domestic and international tax issues, tax efficient cross-border structures, restructuring projects and tax planning structures, personal taxation and compliance issues generally. Her team also advises personal clients in relation to tax, estate and wealth planning, as well as immigration law issues.
Rosanne is a founder member, past Deputy President and Fellow of the Malta Institute of Taxation; a founder member of STEP (Malta) as well as of the local IFA branch; an elected council member and Honorary Secretary of the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners as well as a member of the Institute's Tax Committee, advising government on tax policy; a member of the ITPA, IBA and the Malta Chamber of Advocates.
Rosanne is a past visiting lecturer in fiscal law within the Department of Public Law of the Faculty of Law at the University of Malta. She also examines tax dissertations submitted to the University of Malta in fulfilment of the law degree.
Rosanne is the winner of the World Finance 2011 'Best Tax Consultant – Malta' award and is regularly ranked in Chambers and Partners (where she ranks as a Band 1 Practitioner), World Tax (International Tax Review), the Legal 500, Citywealth Leaders List and the International Who's Who of Corporate Tax Lawyers, among others.
