Maria da Graça Pedretti received her JD from the University of São Paulo in 1975 and has been a partner with Felsberg Advogados in São Paulo, Brazil since 1985. She concentrates her work in the areas of project finance, capital markets, securitisation and corporate law.
Maria has worked on many large project finance transactions, representing various foreign governmental agencies and multilateral financing organisations including Overseas Private Investment Corporation, Export-Import Bank of the United States, Inter-American Development Bank and Inter American Investment Corporation, in areas such as manufacturing facilities, power plants, transmission lines, ports and mortgage backed securities.
Her work also includes extensive practice in the area of international bank finance, debt restructuring, securitisation and lease finance transactions. She provided legal assistance to American Airlines in connection with the local financing of 47 Embraer E175 aircraft to be operated under American Eagle brand, in an aggregate total amount of USD 4 billion approximately.
Maria has authored several articles, including 'Stock and Quotas Pledges' published in Project Finance Magazine (London), 'Asset-Based Lending in Latin America' published in Secured Lender Magazine (Chicago), 'Foreign Investment in Brazilian Projects' published in the Global Reference Guide (UK) and 'Project Finance - Brazil' published in Getting the Deal Through (London). She has also given many speeches on capital markets, investment funds, securitisation and trust assignments.
