Gerben Weistra has over 20 years of professional consulting experience with a primary focus on international tax and transfer pricing. He has provided advice to companies, governments and law firms on a range of complex international tax, transfer pricing, and valuation issues. He has performed and directed transfer pricing engagements in a variety of situations, including planning, advance pricing agreements, documentation, audit and litigation.
In 2015 Gerben started Ectacon to provide international tax, economic and transfer pricing expertise to corporate tax departments on both a regular consulting basis and on a collaborative sourcing (co-sourcing) basis.
Increasingly, multinationals' tax departments perform transfer pricing activities in-house, whether these activities relate to setting, implementing, monitoring or defending transfer pricing policies or preparing transfer pricing documentation. However, certain skills and expertise may not always be available in-house, and the in-house team may also need extra resource, periodically. Co-sourcing enables corporate tax departments to maintain control of certain critical processes, while leveraging knowledge and experience from consultants.
Ectacon supports in-house tax teams with tax, economic and transfer pricing expertise on a co-sourcing basis. Examples of activities performed include working with in-house teams to prepare analysis and documentation, train in-house staff, and act as trusted advisor, addressing operational issues and strategic tax and transfer pricing concerns on a regular basis.
Ectacon regularly works with transfer pricing specialists in other locations, tax advisors, and economic experts as needed.
