Richard Skipper is a partner within the structured asset finance team of DLA Piper UK LLP in London and has extensive experience in large scale and cross border finance and leasing transactions with a particular focus on aviation. The team forms part of the global DLA Piper Aviation sector which is a multi-disciplinary, firm-wide industry sector group, with a breadth of experience in working for key Aviation sector clients.
His clients include international financial institutions, borrowers, operating lessors, airlines, manufacturers and high net worth individuals on a vast array of commercial aviation (both fixed wing and rotor) and business jet transactions.
Richard's experience includes finance and operating lease structures, particularly German KG leasing funds, JOLCOs, export credit financings and public debt issues; acting for financiers on a wide variety of financing structures for airlines in the UK, Europe and the Middle East; acting for banks and corporates in the business jet sector; acting for lessors in the finance, leasing and acquisition and disposal of aircraft, including with leases attached; advising on restructurings, particularly of export credit financings; acting for airlines and lenders in the acquisition of other airline operators and leasing companies as well as bringing airlines to list on the London stock exchange.
Richard has also been recognised in Chambers and Partners, Legal 500, Spears 500 and Corporate Jet and Helicopter Investor.
