Stuart Simons, Deloitte Thailand, is a Tax Partner based in the Bangkok. He has over 20 years of experience in advising multinational and local companies on taxation and business regulations in respect of business activities in Thailand.
Stuart leads the Deloitte Thailand transfer pricing service line. He has been responsible for leading transfer pricing engagements for clients in a wide range of industries, including the food and drink; fashion; electronics and electrical; chemical; pharmaceutical; automotive; and trading industries.
In addition, Stuart leads the Deloitte Thailand Customs & Global Trade Services group, focusing on customs duty, excise tax, and VAT. The specific focus of the group is on customs advisory to assist clients to achieve a cost efficient supply chain, including the use of blue corner, Section 19 bis, bonded warehouse, customs free zone, Board of Investment, Export Processing Zone, ASEAN Free Trade Area (AFTA), and the Generalized Scheme of Preferences (GSP). Stuart has been involved in compliance reviews of client's customs compliance and processes, including tariff classification, valuation and entitlement to privileges and import/export control status (e.g., licensing) of goods.
Stuart has been a regular speaker at local seminars on transfer pricing issues and has contributed articles to a number of publications, including the International Tax Review, Bangkok Post, and Kokusai Zeimu (Japan).
Stuart graduated from the University of Western Australia with a Bachelor of Commerce and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
