Adil Rao, Deloitte Middle East, is a director in international tax team based in Dubai and leads the transfer pricing practice across the Middle East region covering multiple jurisdictions which include Bahrain, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and The West Bank.
Adil moved to the Middle East region in January 2015, prior to which he was part of Deloitte's transfer pricing team in London for 8 years. He has over 17 years of international tax and transfer pricing experience both as an advisor and a former tax collector.
Adil's experience includes advising multinationals on a range of international tax and transfer pricing issues, including design and implementation of tax efficient operating models, treaty interpretations, PE analysis, transfer pricing policies, documentation and compliance, value chain analysis, audit defence and APA/MAP.
He has led many multidisciplinary projects at all stages from feasibility to implementation covering a wide range of industries such as financial services, technology, aviation, telecommunication, consumer business, automotive, and energy.
He is a frequent speaker on BEPS and transfer pricing issues at various client seminars and tax authority conferences across the world and has regularly contributed to various tax and transfer pricing publications, including International Tax Review.
He is a qualified professional management accountant and holds certifications in international tax and transfer pricing from Chartered Institute of Taxation in the UK.
Adil also holds MSc Law and Accounting (with distinction) from London School of Economics and Political Science where he topped the programme and won an award for the overall best performance.
