Gerard Feeney, Deloitte Ireland, is a director in the Dublin office and leads the firm's transfer pricing service line in Ireland. Gerard has over 10 years of experience in transfer pricing including working in Deloitte UK transfer pricing practice on secondment. He was involved in setting up the firm's transfer pricing practice in advance of the introduction of a formal transfer pricing regime in Ireland in 2011.
His experience covers a wide range of industries including life sciences, telecommunications, technology, consumer products and financial services with a specialism in business model optimization, transfer pricing planning, documentation and dispute resolution.
In his current role, Gerard's clients include both Irish headquartered multinational groups and inbound international groups with Irish operations. Gerard has significant experience on numerous transfer pricing projects including:
- Transfer pricing planning–Gerard has been involved in setting up many IP and franchise models for clients in the life sciences, telecommunications and consumer products sectors.
- BEPS advisory–Gerard has worked with many clients in advising on the transfer pricing and permanent establishment implications on operating models under the OECD BEPS project.
- Global transfer pricing documentation compliance–Gerard has led and managed numerous global documentation projects for multinational groups in many sectors with operations in Europe, Asia-Pacific and Americas.
- Dispute resolution–Gerard has worked with many clients in negotiating advance pricing agreements (APAs) with Irish Revenue and mutual agreement procedures (MAPs).
Gerard's educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce from the National University of Ireland. Gerard is also a qualified chartered certified accountant (FCCA) and a member of the Irish Taxation Institute (AITI).
