Dr Muris Dujsic, Deloitte Canada, is a Partner and the Chief Economist of National Transfer Pricing practice. He has assisted numerous multinational companies across various industries in establishing and defending their transfer pricing models and policies.
Muris has extensive experience in transfer pricing, business valuation, and evaluation of capital investment projects. His most relevant transfer pricing achievements include:
- Numerous planning studies involving migrations of intellectual property, determination of the relative value of individual intangible assets, and pricing of financial transactions
- Numerous documentation studies involving transfer prices, royalty rates, charges for intragroup services, guarantee fees, and interest rates for major North American manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and service companies
- Numerous audit defense and appeal cases involving a broad variety of transfer pricing issues, such as pricing of tangible goods, intangibles, intragroup services, and financial transactions
- Numerous competent authority and advance pricing agreement projects involving Canadian, European, Asian, and US tax authorities.
Before focusing on transfer pricing in 1996, Muris specialized in business valuation. He is also a former university professor. Muris has 35 years of economic research and business advisory experience. Muris has been a frequent speaker at major national and international events on transfer pricing and related issues. He has published a number of papers in the areas of transfer pricing, financial analysis, and economic policy in various Canadian and European academic and professional publications.
Muris is a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators and the Canadian Tax Foundation. Since 2003, Muris has been named one of the world's leading transfer pricing advisers in eight consecutive biannual Euromoney/Legal Media surveys.
