Dr Lawrence Powell, Deloitte US, is a director in the National Economics Group in Washington DC and New York offices. He has been fully dedicated to transfer pricing issues for the past 24 years.
Larry advises multinational companies on the development and economic analysis of intercompany pricing methods for advance pricing agreements (APAs), tax planning, documentation, and audits. He has been listed in Euromoney's Guide to the World's Leading Transfer Pricing Advisers.
Larry has experience in numerous industries, including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, automobiles and trucks, transportation equipment, overnight package delivery and supply chain management, power generation equipment and distribution, medical equipment, industrial and consumer electronics, steel, oil, industrial machinery, safety equipment, personal care products, Japanese trading companies, multilevel marketing, consumer batteries, computer and office equipment, professional services, auctions, retailing, printing, commodity brokerage, and clothing.
In addition to his client service responsibilities, Larry is the national leader in charge of transfer pricing training programs in the US, and has published articles in BNA's Daily Tax Report and the Journal of Global Transfer Pricing.
Before joining Deloitte, Larry worked for an economic and management consulting firm. His experience included modeling, research and analysis, and preparing testimony in the following areas: litigation support, antitrust analysis, regulatory and environmental economics, and management consulting.
