Jay Das, Deloitte US, is a principal in the Silicon Valley transfer pricing practice. Jay has extensive transfer pricing experience, and serves clients across the West Region of United States. Jay has served clients across the spectrum including several Fortune 50 countries, and Silicon Valley start-ups and in a range of industries including high technology, media, telecommunications, manufacturing, retail, and life sciences.
Jay has provided companies with valuation and economic consulting services involving business model optimization strategies, mergers and acquisitions, implementation of IP migration strategies, headquarter services, international tax transfer pricing planning, and restructuring and reorganization of international operations as well as controversy management and dispute resolution.
In particular, Jay specializes in the IP migration (including IP partnerships, cost sharing transactions, licensing transactions) and business model optimization sub-space within transfer pricing, and has executed more than 100 projects in the space. His practice also includes advising and representing clients in high profile cost sharing, and supply chain restructuring controversy involving large amounts of adjustments.
Jay is also actively involved in training, and has developed training materials for Deloitte's US and global transfer pricing practice and has instructed at several internal and external events, including Tax Executives Institute, universities, BNA, Thomson Reuters, Deloitte Dbriefs, and conferences on international tax/transfer pricing issues. Prior to joining Deloitte Tax, Jay was an Analyst with an Investment Banking firm, was a Research Assistant at the University of California, San Diego in the Physics department, and was a Software Developer for NASA EKK program.
Jay earned BA degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of California, as well as an MBA degree from Haas School of Business, University of California, Berkeley.
