The 2016 guide cities client commentary that he is "an extremely experienced hedge funds lawyer" as well as an 'incredibly commercial man." The guide notes that in addition to the lead role Mr Astleford assumes on various multi-jurisdictional onshore and offshore fund matters, he manages a host of crucial client relationships. The Legal 500 UK 2016 also ranks Mr Astleford as a leading lawyer in the investment funds area, noting that he has "been there and done it." Who's Who Legal: Private Funds 2016 again selected Mr Astleford as one of the world's leading private funds lawyers. Mr Astleford qualified as a solicitor in 1986 with Linklaters, where he practised in London and Brussels. In 1990, he joined INVESCO MIM PLC, the London listed holding company to the international financial service group, as group legal adviser and later as head of corporate services before returning to private practice in 1993. He is a solicitor in England and Ireland.
