Vladimír Uhde is the managing partner of the Prague branch of BBH and a partner responsible for the litigation & energy law departments. He focuses not only on litigation before the ordinary courts, but also on arbitration, both domestic and international. Mr Uhde also has extensive experience in the field of energy law, particularly as the long- acting legal advisor to companies of the CEZ Group, the single-largest producer and distributor of energy in the Czech Republic.
He represented the EPH group in their dispute with the Czech Coal Group concerning the supply of thermal coal with a value in excess of one billion CZK.
He is currently a lead counsel in a number of real estate disputes relating to development and shopping centers the value of which exceeds 3 billion CZK.
He also represents Plzenský Prazdroj, a.s., the largest beer producer and a member of the SAB Miller Group, in disputes relating to its trademarks and real estates at their brewery in Plzen in connection with the nationalization in 1945.
He has also represented the insurance companies and clients in litigation both before the ordinary courts and in arbitration proceedings relating to claims the overall subject of which is in the hundreds of millions CZK.
He also provides the legal advice to CEZ Group in its creation of the largest fund of qualified investors in the energy sector in the Czech Republic.
Vladimír is an arbitrator with the Arbitration Court attached to the Economic Chamber of the Czech Republic and Agricultural Chamber of the Czech Republic, a member of the Young International Arbitration Group of the London Court of International Arbitration and he is the author of a number of articles, particularly in the field of arbitration.
Vladimír Uhde graduated from the Law Faculty of Charles University in Prague in 1998, provides legal services in Czech and English and speaks Russian and German.
