Peter Kenamets' practice is focused mainly on IP rights disputes. He has represented clients before Swedish courts in patent infringement and invalidity matters in various technical areas, including harvesting machines, absorbent hygiene products, pharmaceuticals, polymer chemistry, floor cleaning and maintenance technology, as well as drive-control systems for vehicles. These matters have involved pursuing and defending claims for preliminary injunctions and other security measures, trials in the court of first instance, appeal proceedings and opposition proceedings before the European Patent Office.
Peter also has experience of acting as counsel for clients in contractual lawsuits and court proceedings relating to IP rights other than patents, including a case concerning the design of a rolling walker that was tried by the Swedish Supreme Court. In another matter, he successfully represented a client before the Swedish Market Court and defended against a claim for unfair marketing of clothing. Patenting of medical technology and implants is also a field where he has extensive knowledge.
Moreover, Peter advises clients in matters related to IP rights due diligence investigations and other IP rights-related transactions, as well as licensing, R&D projects, employee inventions and general contractual issues.
He is a member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, the Swedish Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property and the Intellectual Property Society of Western Sweden.
