Klavs Gravesen has been driving a specialized practice on energy law for several years and he serves as legal and strategic advisor to national and international companies including multi-utilities in both the public and private sector. Simultaneously, he has been lecturing at the University of Copenhagen (law) and is a member of the Danish Bar Association and the Danish Energy Law Association. Due to his extensive experience in regulatory matters in the energy sector, Klavs Gravesen has been invited to become a member of the Danish Bar Association's committee on energy and environment.
A considerable part of Klavs Gravesen's work is related to establishment, restructuring and transactions of energy entities, especially within electricity, heating, citygas, watersupply and sewage. Within this area he has advised a large number of companies and municipalities in Denmark. Another substantial part of Klavs Gravesen's practice involves advising energy supply businesses in regulatory matters. As a member of the Danish Bar Association's committee on energy and environment, Klavs Gravesen is involved in proposed legislation, and due to his strong specialization and background, he is connected to relevant legislative authorities.
Finally, he has co-authored a number of publications: "The EU Treaty after Amsterdam" (Published in the spring of 1999), "Consumer Law, aspects of Civil and Marketing Law" (Published 2002), and "the Heat Supply Act" (published 2004). All publications in Danish.
He worked at the Ministry of Justice as private secretary to the minister, and later as legal counsellor to the Danish Parliament, before joining DLA Nordic.
Klavs Gravesen is admitted to the High Court of Denmark. He attended Kings College London (1988-89) and the University of Copenhagen (law degree, 1985).
He speaks English, and the Scandinavian languages.
